Lloyd ball game just happened to coincide with the celebration of our nephew Matthew’s birth! The little guy’s two now, and I don’t know how that is possible, since he was a little peanut when he was born. *sigh* Time is just going faster and faster.
Anyway, we had a great time. Matthew is fun and funny, with a quick smile and sparkly eyes. Unfortunately none of my pictures will show that because I think I had it on ‘macro’ for most of my photos. If you want some good pictures of his smile, go here. (Mark also has a much, much better camera.)
We had a ton of fun playing with him and watching him make trains or helping him stabilize wobbly towers.
I stink at buying gifts, so I asked for birthday present ideas ahead of time. Mark and Rachel said that the boy loves trucks, and we found this. It was the trifecta of toys – Wheels, a Handle, and It Opens. Who doesn’t love a truck/box/suitcase that you can fill with baby trucks? This picture may not show his love, but that’s because he’s murmuring ‘babies’ to it.
Plus, he will make you breakfast.
Seriously. What’s not to love?
Mary Ellen says
It’s obvious that he is smart because he’s wearing the uniform of the 10-time World Series Champion Cardinals!!
Brad says
I love nephew time!
That’s especially cool that he can do breakfast. I’d order bacon. Mmm… bacon…
Lauren says
These eggs were much better than his others, which mostly tasted like painted wood (boiled) or plastic (fried).
Gretchen says
Of course he loves the truck -- it is a GARBAGE truck after all! (Kiddy lit accompaniment suggestion: I STINK by Jim and Kate McMullen. Do you know that one? Boys love it!!)
Kristi says
My favorite is the one with Uncle Lloyd.
Peggy says
Me too! They both look adorable! You could sell that shot to Hallmark, I’m sure.
And what a cutey-patutey that Matthew is!!! I love the way he has his feet up in the truck picture.
Lloyd says
Yes, the garbage truck turned out to be a great toy. (a) It’s a truck (b) It’s a garbage truck (c) It has a handle on top for easy driving (d) You can store smaller trucks inside it.
Mark says
He gave Lloyd a multi-colored halo because he thinks his Uncle is just divine.
Thanks for coming to visit us, Aunt Lauren and Uncle Lloyd! You are missed already.
