After church I went to work with one big goal in mind: to hang up a fan. (The other one broke and is now a t-ball stand, remember?). I had in mind to hang up a wall-mounted fan to clear some real estate on the floor. I thought about ordering one online, but the ones in my price range all had reviews about being ‘cheap plastic pieces of junk that broke within months’.
Rats.
Saturday in Lincoln I saw a super-industrial-looking fan for eighty bucks and thought, “This is it! I’m not cheapin’ out this time!”
I bought it!
I hung it!
It took over an hour.
I did not follow the directions and use the bolts they provided to attach it to the wall, because there was no way to make it work.
It hangs fine, but it is a STRONG fan. On low it is hurricane force and shakes the wall. Dang it!! I think I’ll have to return it. All that effort for nothing. Wasted motion.
I decided to tackle another job before going on a home visit, so I painted the parking lot stripes with primer. Just as I was finishing up and congratulating myself on not getting paint on myself, I got paint on myself.
DANG IT! I had a home visit in half an hour!
Hey, that fan turned out handy after all.
EDIT: Lloyd says he doesn’t understand that photo. I washed the primer off my pants and hung them so the hurricane wind could blow through the leg. I was wearing some extra shorts that we keep for school-agers.
Deborah says
I understood the picture. Sorry about the wasted effort. That is frustrating.
Brad says
Hehe… I had a similar reaction as Lloyd. It looks like the pants are blowing towards the fan.
Kristi says
Bummer.
What is up with the word “blocks” in the light fixture?
Lauren says
It’s above the block area. Maybe this year I’ll get on the stick and label the other centers in the room, too. Hmmmmmmm…..
Peggy says
I got the picture too. You can see where the pants are wet. Maybe it’s a guy/gal thing.
Rachel says
I am giggling to myself as I think: if the fan were running backwards those pants would be hanging on for dear life as they were sucked to their death….
Mom says
Got the fan and pants. Remarkable that the schoolagers shorts fit and that you can hang a fan.
