Thursday was a very nice day. Lloyd and I slept in, then went over to Sam and Rachel’s for a fabulous feast and a day of relaxing. Lloyd and Sam made everyone watch Paint Your Wagon (a Sommerer Family favorite), while I caught a fairly long Paint-Your-Wagon-sized nap. Then Rachel, Anna and I watched Phantom of the Opera (which I’d never seen) and then the gamers played a surprisingly quick game of Settlers of Catan.
Sam smoked the turkey (on his smoker, not like a cigarette, though isn’t that a hilarious visual?) and it was fantastic! Rachel’s side dishes were perfect! I had a hard time eating because I like to do food ratios and as the plate emptied it was tough to decide what the Last Taste would be.
What won out? Stuffing with gravy. Mmmmmmmm…..
Brad says
My Last Taste was turkey and gravy and mashed potatoes. No… wait… it was a piece of broccoli. That is unusual. It was good though… barely steamed… lots of salt…
Deborah says
Mine was Alton Brown’s version of green bean casserole.
Beth says
Mine…Turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy. Yum.
Mom says
