Sooooo…. we all know that I am not as good at cleaning house as Lloyd, right? Now, granted, I do a fair amount of the day-to-day drudgery keeping things running that goes unseen: sweeping the basement steps once every three months whether they need it or not; weekly laundry; …. um, it seems like there should be more on this list……
But, when it comes down to Results, nobody beats Lloyd. He can spend ten minutes in a room and make it look spectacular. Not me. Too many distrac hey, is that waxed string? I wonder why we have waxed string. I could totally make a kite.
Where was I? Oh, cleaning. Brad is going to be here over the Christmas break and the upstairs is a disaster. I decided – nay, wrote on my to-do list – that I would spend half an hour cleaning the upstairs bathroom. I actually spent about two or three hours total on it. Yep, I scrubbed the tub and toilet, cleaned out a cabinet and a drawer, built a new entrance to the cat box so the cats won’t track litter all over the floor, moved the rugs around, built a kite, played with Emme, watched part of a tv show on my iPad. I was in and out, what with doing laundry and returning a saw to the basement, the very saw I used for the litter box entrance….
Lloyd came into the bathroom in the evening and said, “I thought you were going to clean this. What have you been doing up here all day?”
Emme and I hid the kite.
Brad says
You made a kite?
Lauren says
Artistic license. ‘Kite’ means ‘various weird projects that are too embarrassing to show’.
Brad says
Hehe… Well, now you HAVE to show them.
Lauren says
Um, imagine me at a staff Christmas party with jingle bells tied all over me with waxed string and wearing a tree skirt as a shawl. There are no photos.
Rachel says
Yes there are!
Peggy says
You go girl!
I have a good excuse for not being able to clean up that well right now. Surprisingly, it’s driving me crazy!
Lauren's mom says
and…..you had s nice long conversation with your mom and dad while you were cleaning that bathroom! Thank you.
Lauren says
Oh, I paused my ‘work’ for that conversation. I have to focus on the important stuff. 🙂
