Shhhhhh…. Don’t tell anyone, but we skipped church on Sunday. Bad weather kept me from doing outside things on Saturday, so Sunday was a day of work-related stuff. Lloyd helped me move furniture back onto the carpet at school (our carpets were cleaned over the break), then we ventured into Lincoln so he could work on the computers. I ‘helped’, in that I sat around until there was a measly job to do, such as connect some cables, or drop a box of hard drives. Wait, he didn’t ask me to do that, I just showed some initiative and did it myself.
I also got two terrible haircuts. I went to the mall early and most of the stores were closed. JC Penney(s) was open, though, and they have a salon. There was nobody in there so I could get in immediately. The lady who cut my hair was…. interesting. She just had a baby seven weeks ago so I am going to cut her all kinds of (s)lack, but I told her what I wanted, took of(f) my glasses and actually made small t(a)lk while she sloooooowwwwlllly cut my hair. Honestly, I was suppressing my ADHD tendencies waiting for her to be done. She finished, gave me my glasses and a mirror….. and it was about three inches longer than I had asked for. I actually asked her to cut it again. So she did. Sloooooowwwwwly. When it was all over it was not the one I had hoped for, but it is shorter and will be easier to dry. There was no way I could have stuck around for a third haircut.
Happy Monday, all!

When I first read “drop a box of hard drives”, I thought it was some computer installation term and I thought: “Wow! Lauren really knows her way around computers!”
Lloyd says
You’re thinking of dropping some acid.

Lloyd had left the room and I was doing my trained monkey job: Get a hard drive from the box, click it into the computer, plug in the two cables. Get a hard drive from the box, click it into the computer, plug in the two cables. I went through half of them without noticing the box was not entirely on the table and that I was taking them from the side that was keeping it from toppling. Get a hard drive from the box, click it into the computer, plug in the two cables. Get a hard drive PLONK. crapcrapcrapcrapcrap
