Monday morning.
“No school day”
Fewer kids
have come to play.
From the basement
comes a stink.
Oh.
It’s sewage in the sink.
CrapCrapCrapCrap CrapCrapCrap.
Water everywhere.
CrapCrapCrap.
Sure, we’ve had some
floods before.
But sewer water
on the floor?
Sewer water
in the cabinets?
Drawers and counters?
Yes. Dagnabit.
Call the plumber.
Bail the sink.
Open window.
Air the stink.
Throw out all the
stuff that’s wet.
Rent a cleaner.
Clean carpet.
Lloyd has day off.
Good guy Lloyd.
Hammers, saws
and makes a void.
Goodbye, gross stuff.
Tossed in bins.
Moral?
Water always wins.
Brad says
You’re doing an ABCB rhyming pattern! Just yesterday I was talking with my Literature classes about that!
I don’t recognize that room.
Lauren says
ABCB rhyming patterns make the nightmare less awful. Pass that on to the kids. 😉
It’s the back of the basement -- the west wall. It used to be a kitchenette back when there was an apartment. We have a ton of storage down there. A ton of sewage-covered storage.
Deborah says
Yuck!
Kris says
Ugh!
Lloyd says
Was stinky, but it’s always fun tearing things apart.
Lauren's mom says
Is that at the CDC or at your house?
Lloyd says
It’s at the Preschool.
Aunt Lolly says
Lloyd you are my hero!!!!!!Bless you!
Gretchen says
A wise man I know is fond of saying “WATER IS THE ENEMY.” True for sewer backups and hurricanes. The obvious exception is baptism.
Peggy says
What a nightmare!
Kristi says
How does Lloyd come out looking so clean after a project like that? I bet he didn’t smell like a rose, though, did he?
Mom says
Glad you could help Lloyd. Such a mess!
