Sam is the coach for St. John’s boys basketball team, and this year they were amazing. I know absolutely nothing about sports, but from what I hear, they worked hard, answered the call, ran like a well-oiled machine, lit up the scoreboard, lived and died by the outside shot, were red-hot, were on fire (I am looking at sportcliche.com to know what to say.)
Anyway, they went to the nationals: Lutheran Basketball Association of America. The bus left Seward at 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning with the boys & girls teams and a ton of parents. The girls lost their game, but the boys won earlier today (Friday) and are now playing again. I’m not watching the live feed because I am worried about jinxing it. I know the power of my butt on this stool. It is not to be trifled with.
My favorite part of this whole thing is that St. John school had a watch party this morning. The rest of the student body gathered in the sanctuary to cheer on the girls. They used the new screens! That’s hilarious!
So the outcome of the game isn’t known at this time, but either way – great job, Foxes!
Happy Birthday to my sister, too!

The St. John’s mascot is foxes? I don’t think I knew that.
As far as I know, my school has no mascot. We don’t have any sports teams, so I guess a mascot isn’t necessary.

For those who care . . . St. John lost their second game (36-44). They now play 12:55 on Saturday. The school formerly known as BLS also played in Valpo, but lost their first game on Friday. They play at 10:20 today.

Fox Nation is strong in Indiana! Thank you for all the support from Seward! BTW. from what I can tell, we are one of 3 schools in the nation (Lutheran) that brought both boys and girls teams! Go St. John!
