As with last year, just move along. These are notes for me. Although, maybe when we get closer to the Potato Bake, someone can remind me that this is where I keep my notes. I looked all over for them.
1:00 Arrive and turn all ovens on to 350. (This could wait a bit.) Unload car.
1:15 Chili in Crockpots. (4 cans, 4 crockpots. We cut it close this year with the amount.) You could leave them on low and be just fine. They were on high for about an hour and the small ones were bubbling.
1:20 – 2:30 chopping broccoli. It was frozen this time because fresh is too expensive. Maybe do that the day before.
1:45 – Potatoes in top left oven. Turn to 325.
1:55 – Potatoes in bottom left oven. Turn to 325.
2:10 – Potatoes in bottom right oven and school ovens. School ovens set to 300. (They are not accurate.)
Set timer for 3:15 to check.
Stir chili.
2:30 fill sour cream squirters. One tub will fill all four. We really don’t need to make three tubs. Buy three, but just thin out two with 1/3 cup of milk each. Bring gallon zip-lock bags for this.
3:00 – Jeff came to put tape loops on the back of art. I’m glad he did.
3:20 – roll the bottom racks of potatoes top-to-bottom in ovens 1 & 2, set 20 minute timer for other ovens.
4:00 – poke the potatoes, one from the middle of each oven. Oven 1 was done, ovens 2 and three were note. The potatoes on the bottoms of the school ovens were not done, but the tops were plenty done. At 4:30, load potatoes from there first. Get ice. Make coffee
People were there at 4:00/4:15/4:30 (Kate, Myrna, Rebecca, Cindy, Stephanie, Glenda) Art was already up, tables set up. Lemonade was made ahead of time. We had to keep making little batches, so buy a giant container of mix and maybe make two coolers.
iPad running with photos.
We had over a box of potatoes left over, but better too much than not enough. Plenty of salads came – hallelujah.
Don’t forget:
little plates
gloves
saran wrap/save containers
bags for people to take potatoes home at the end of the night.

It’s interesting to see a minute-by-minute schedule. I don’t think of my tasks like that. I tend toward writing a “first this, then this” kind of list.
I’m glad you had enough food for everyone, but I don’t think that you should writing the “H” word during Lent. That’s against the rules 😉
Lauren says
Ha! I was talking to Sandra and she had some kids tattle on another one for saying the ‘a’ word. She was wondering, “Great. Who even knows ‘a$$’?” when they said, “You’re not supposed to say alleluia during Lent!”
The minute-by minute is only because it’s time sensitive. Everything has to be ready to go by 5:00. (I don’t even like potatoes.)

The person sitting next to me said, “These potatoes are perfectly done!” Good job.

That person is my new favorite person.
