One of my girls had a new pair of shoes. As she was showing them off to her friends, she discovered a little tab on the side that seemed to be useless.
“What’s this for?” She asked. I examined it it closely, and seeing that there was no pocket under it and it was too small to clamp onto something, I deduced that it was a Teacher Irritator: a little tab of Velcro that was purely for opening and closing repeatedly during story time.
But then I saw another hidden tab:
The little tab was to hold up this other, larger tab, revealing the exciting new pattern underneath.
Good grief. She didn’t hear anything I said at story time. This girl needs a plain pair of Keds.

Those are like spy shoes. If she was being tracked and her followers were using her shoes as a descriptive detail, she could just pull down that panel and have an instant disguise!
Lauren says
Ha! That’s hilarious!
Peggy says
That’s what I was gonna say! (not really…but what can one say after that)
Mom says
Ha, ha. Just what every kid needs another distraction.
