I was denied the chance to go camping this weekend, so instead I made Lloyd go along to Omaha. (He went with no complaint, God bless him.) We went to the restaurant supply store, where he bought a new broom handle; Nebraska Furniture Mart, where we bought nothing; the mall, where he bought a new shirt; and Cabella’s where he found his much coveted folding rocking chair. (Future post.) all in all, not a bad day for him.
I wanted to swing by Mahoney State Park to look around. Hint: the cicadas are out and THEY ARE DEAFENING. It was crazy! We stopped to climb the 70-foot observation tower.
It’s harder to hear cicadas up there.

Great view!

A new broom handle? For a broom? It seems like most people would just buy a whole new broom if the handle breaks.
Lloyd says
It’s the big push broom. It mostly gets used in the winter for light snows now that we don’t clean the basement anymore.
