We are in buckle-down meal mode after vacation, which makes it sound like I’m being frugal and noble, but it’s all a ruse. I was too lazy to buy groceries this weekend, so we’re finishing up the weird stuff in the fridge.
Last night I made a ‘casserole’ from the leftover half of Lloyd’s Bad Movie Night burger. Tonight we finished it off with the bacon he forgot to eat for breakfast (I left it in the microwave), a tiny bit of spaghetti sauce and pieces of a ‘pretzel’ I made with the preschoolers.
As always, the words accompanying dinner are ‘alive another day’.
Your presentation is spectacular!
Huh. I can’t make that picture not be tiny. I’ve reloaded it twice and even went through the the whole upload/resize process and it’s still wrong. I’ll get my tech guy on that.
How do you make a casserole out of a burger? Did you put it in a blender?
“casserole’ recipe: Empty a can of green beans into a dish. Chop up meat and toppings from half-hamburger and stir in. Rummage through fridge. Get sour cream and chicken soup base. Mix a little of those two and stir in with some french-fried onions (the kind you use for green beans, of course). Mix up some instant potatoes and spread on top, because this is now ‘shepherd pie’. Bake for a while, then sprinkle cheese on top (to cover up how it looks) and bake a little longer. Choke it down.
