Did you know that mama wolf spiders carry their egg sac around until the babies hatch?
Did you know that after the babies hatch, they climb on their mamas back and get a ride until she makes them get jobs?
Did you know that if a student brings a mama wolf spider into class in a sealed jar (with air holes, of course), Mrs. Sommerer behaves very lovingly and tenderly toward said spider?
Did you know that if I saw that spider without a jar around it, I would fall over dead of fright?
Did you know that this was the photo Sam tried to link to yesterday?
Did you know we went to look at it?
So, so cool. Nobody was home to tell us about the price, dagnabit.
I bet a spider got ’em.
Deborah says
I did not know about the spider. I assumed about the bike thing.
Brad says
Hehe… the things we can do for the sake of children. If I’m out in the world and encounter vomit or blood, I do not react well. If I’m at school, it’s like I have an iron stomach and stoic mind. I can be near it, touch it, clean it… whatever the kids need.
I bet that spider is glad she met you from inside a jar.
Jane says
I like the bike but you can keep the spider.
