Well, the retreat was a good one. The only real downside is that I was a sweat machine during the morning team-building games, but thankfully everyone else was in a similar situation so we were all very forgiving. Other than that, the food was wonderful, the sessions were bucket-filling, and it gave us – me, at least – much to think about.
Another good thing? We left a to-do list at the CDC for the college students that came to clean while we were gone, and they did a fine job. I went over after we returned from the retreat and realized that it was also the optimal time to re-paint the parking lot. (No traffic and the evening was fairly cool.)
I’ll admit that I got a little sentimental about it. I’ve repainted that parking lot for many years, and this might be the last time. Thanks for your service, parking lot.

Before your last sentence, I didn’t remember why this might be the last time. I wondered if you were making some kind of big life change that I didn’t know about.

Yeah, it’s just that the new building is supposed to be ready. I do wonder how long I can do this, though. My body is protesting more and more.

Way to be the details person, Lauren. Your painted letters look excellent!

Wait…what?!? You paint the parking lot??? WOW!! All the lines & such? I’m pretty sure I would not be such a good steward. You are amazing!!
Rachel says
Were you tempted to paint some smiley faces anywhere? I would be so tempted to add extra paintings.
