Due to some miscommunication on our parts, Saturday started in a grumpy way. I thought we were going to Lincoln, but Lloyd had made plans. Hmmph.
i got a fair amount of stuff done – a couple of loads of laundry, packaged up a thing to send to my parents, and made some bread.
That night, Lloyd was still dorking around, so I made a tiny fire in my old chimenea. I really wanted to see if some rose bush clippings would burn. They did. No photos of the fire, but here’s the silly set-up in the light of day.
The next day wasn’t much more productive. Church, grocery shopping and napping. The best part? Hulu has episodes of Bob Ross! Napping is going to be amazing from now on!
Oh, and the banner picture? Our faucet is dripping so much we shut off the water. It’s been like camping in th house – we’re pouring water from pitchers. Anyway, what was the one important job to do this weekend that didn’t get done? You guessed it.

Bob Ross on Hulu! That’s really exciting! I’ve had my DVR set to record any episodes that come on, but it hasn’t caught any in a while. Can I watch him as a non-paying member?

Wow! You make good bread. I wish Dad and I could come over. He would fix the faucet for you.

My goal was to be at home a larger percentage of the weekend than not. Mission accomplished. Great weekend of mostly nothingness!

That bread looks delicious!!! I want to slather my computer screen with butter & take a bite.
Beings you just made this…..is the recipe still fresh in your mind? If it is, can you post it.
(I remember you giving the directions on how to make a quick crusty bread a while ago … and I made it …. and it was fantastic….but I have since lost those directions.)

Hi, Peggy! Here’s the old post: http://laurenandlloyd.com/2007/12/26/new-better-more-powerful-bread/ I usually make half of that now, with a little less salt and a little splash of apple cider vinegar. It’s my fake sourdough now. 😉
