We had a lot of staff that were out for one reason or another today, so we didn’t have our usual hot lunch. (There was no one available to go get it from school and then serve it.) Wait, I told you about that yesterday. Sorry about that.
Anyway, the result was that we all had to bring a cold lunch, which the children LOVE! Seriously, this day was in competition with Halloween. “Are you bringing your lunch tomorrow?” “Yes! I’m using my mom’s lunch bag.” “I’m using my Mom’s lunch bag!” *squeals*
They were so excited about it – everybody had to show their bag and its contents to everyone who arrived. I have one little boy who is not a good eater, and I was curious what his lunch bag would contain. I checked, and it was as I feared. (Oh well – it’s one day.) Anyway, before lunch we had a good talk about healthy eating and I drew up a placemat that showed the good things our bodies need. Thankfully, the children do not judge how I draw.
We made copies and everyone had fun putting their food in the right spots. We also got to make fun of my sad pasta salad.

The treat section is waaaayyy too small for the week after Easter.

Where is the Skittles section? I have kids who eat Skittles for lunch. There is also a kid whose mom packs him the best lunches I’ve ever seen -- packed full with fresh fruits and vegetables. Mmm…

Also, I am embarrassed that I didn’t put an ‘s’ at the end of blueberries.
