Happy Father’s Day! A favorite memory of my dad: The occasional Saturdays when he would surprise me with a chocolate long john from City Market’s bakery. Mmmmmmmmm…. I love you, Dad!
Saturday we went to IKEA! I actually had a reason to go – I am trying to stretch our classroom budgets for toy shelving. There is a very nice option for $65 dollars that when placed horizontally will work great. That’s what I would get….. for the other rooms. The option I actually bought is a bit pricier, since I’ve decided to pay for it myself and upgrade some of my tired old stuff. Also, it was SO fun looking around. I love the inspirational vignettes. Here’s my next build, since we can’t have lofts:
Fun side note: We met up with Mrs. Royuk and the Pesters! (That sounds like a cool band name.) They were in Kansas City for a wedding and stopped in at the House of Awesome to look around. I had already been there 3 1/2 hours, but was glad to look around some more. 😀
I really, really like these for interesting cubbies for the children.
I bought two, and also three of the ‘toy shelves’ mentioned above. The Prius was pretty packed for the ride home, making our journey down Johnson Road extra-fun. It’s like a roller coaster!
Lauren's dad says
Thank you! I love you, too!
Beth says
Yay for new shelving and cubbies! Yay for friends at StuffMart! So fun! 😀
Brad says
Did you eat Swedish meatballs while you were there?
Gramps Royuk says
Yes. It’s sinful to go to IKEA and NOT have Swedish Meatballs. Yummy, yummy! Take me along next time. I can’t walk very good to I sit myself down in the cafeteria to read and eat meatballs. 🙂 🙂
Lauren says
Lloyd ate the meatballs, I had soup. 🙂
