Every few years our staff has to go through different kinds of trainings to fulfill the red tape requirements – CPR, food safety, first aid, all kinds of safety stuff. If was time for me to brush up on my ‘Protect My Ministry’ training – a valuable training that addresses sexual abuse. I was all for it, but I couldn’t watch it on my iPad because the video wouldn’5 load. I settled in front of one of the downstairs computers after work and began the process, thinking this would take 30 or so minutes. After the first few minutes the narrator said, “We’ll cover that in lesson three.” Ok. There would be lessons. This was the introduction.
After a while, “In lesson four..” Ok. Four lessons.
More time passed. “In lesson five….” Oh.
Twenty-five minutes in, “We’ll talk about that in lesson eight.” Eight?? I was only on four!
Oh. My. Gravy. Yes, it was all important stuff, but the whole process took over an hour, and I didn’t figure out until lesson seven how to skim through it. (Lesson seven had ten parts.) I took the final 25-question quiz and missed one.
When I started to fidget and lose focus, I took pictures of the many, many stock photos used in the making of this video. Sooooo many stock photos.

Was stock photo Harold in there anywhere? It would be really funny if he was. I’ve seen him so much on reddit.

I had to do that, too. I also thought it would take a half hour. I also missed one. It’s like we’re twins.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could take the quiz FIRST? Then, if you missed something, you’d just watch/review those issues. The writer of that class has no idea how busy teachers truly are.
