Now that’s how you run a campaign. (Sorry for the ad at the start.)

Owie
Ralph can get very demanding when he wants to be skritched. He has a routine at night – he dives with his face on a book and yells until you scratch his belly. (I call it checking his Facebook.) In the morning he yells at Lloyd until he gets out of the shower and then sprawls on the counter to get a free full-body massage. One day last week Lloyd was trying to multitask and brushed his teeth at the same time. When he put his toothbrush away, the jar/holder broke.
Sunday, I noticed that Ralph had an owie. It’s hard to see on his magnificent bulk.
It was a scab on his leg. Er, paddy-paw.
I put a bunch of hydrogen peroxide on it to see if it still had any glass or whatever in it.
He was incredibly docile through the whole thing. Good ol’ Ralph. Why didn’t you say something sooner? Oh. Maybe that’s what all the yelling is about. “My leg! My leg is hurt!”
Some appreciating
Lloyd had services at the nursing home and we were also on communion set-up duty. Every time those coincide I think that we should ask someone to adjust the schedules…. and the the day is over and I forget all about it.
Anyway, I skipped out on his second service so I could set up the altar. As I was placing things, I noticed the pastor’s stuff that sits on one of the chairs between them – cups of water, some tissues, some hand sanitizer. The cups were balanced on one of the guestbooks. Every time I’ve looked at that I’ve thought about making a nice wooden tray with compartments for their stuff – something that matches the chairs. Well, we all know that will never happen.
We did some grocery shopping at Wal*Mart after church, though, and I stopped in the automotive section. Bingo! We were able to sneak this onto the chair during communion take-down. May I present…..
That’s right, the Clerical Console 2000. Ready to hold all your personal church service supplies. We stocked it with Captain America tissues and Lemonhead candy.
The lights were turned out, so the photos aren’t the greatest.
They thought it was pretty funny. No hurt feelings if they get rid of it, either. 🙂
Some accomplishing
Today was a pretty good day. Lloyd and I helped one of the women I work with move a loft out of the old center, then I ran some errands: picked up the bulletins from church (Lloyd has services tomorrow), deposited some checks and finally cashed out some coins, then went to Lincoln to get some stuff. Back to the CDC to do a couple of things and then home for laundry. I’m watching a movie (Independence Day:Resurgence) as I type this, so that’S why this is subpar writing.
Yeah, that’s why.
Pass
I’m busy. You probably are, too. No good post material. Catch you tomorrow.
Something different
It was another night of getting food from somewhere because we didn’t go grocery shopping this weekend. I always get a steak & chees from Subway, but tonight – something different! They were advertising some ‘Autumn Turkey’ thing. I ordered a sandwich just as the sign told me to, and it was delicious.
