Samith’s brother passed away yesterday. Sujay was a good friend to Lloyd, Brad and Beth and I knew him, too – just not as closely. He had a kind heart and was loved by many, but his life was also hard in many ways. Lately he had been dealing with some health issues, so while I am glad that he is resting with Jesus, it’s just very strange.
I am so sorry for Samith and Stephannie and their family for what they are going through. There are probably better things to say, but I don’t know what they are. I am an outsider in this grief, but I am still sad.
Deborah says
Praying for comfort and peace.
Lauren says
Thank you, Deborah.
Peggy says

Lauren says
Thank you, Peggy. It’s good to hear from you. 🙂

My family became his family when he came to St. Pauls as a freshman in high school He was the brown sheep in my family; we loved to introduce each other to people as brother and sister. People would study us, looking for the non-existent family resemblance and we would sit and giggle like mad fools. When it became obvious that he wouldn’t be able to make the original date for our wedding (because Samith and Stephannie picked the same date), I moved my wedding date so that he could be there. I wasn’t about to get married without my brother.

That is beautiful!
Lauren's dad says
I want this sung at my funeral.
In You Is Gladness
By: Johann Lindemann
In you is gladness
Amid all sadness,
Jesus sunshine of my heart.
By you are given
The gifts of heaven,
You the true Redeemer are.
Our souls are waking;
Our bonds are breaking.
Who trust you surely
Has built securely
And stands forever.
Alleluia!
Our hearts are pining
To see your shining,
Dying or living
To you are cleaving
Now and forever.
Alleluia!
If he is ours,
We fear no powers,
Not of earth or sin or death.
He sees and blesses
In worst distresses;
He can change them with a breath.
Wherefore the story
Tell of his glory
With hearts and voices;
All heaven rejoices
In him forever.
Alleluia!
We shout for gladness,
Win over sadness,
Love him and praise him
And still shall raise him
Glad hymns forever.
Alleluia!

That’s supposed to be a heart. Dumb keyboard. I love you, Dad.
Brad says
I’ve been at a loss for words too. I’m praying a lot. I’m so glad he knows Jesus.
