Lloyd and I decided to re-arrange the living room this week. I really like our regular arrangement, but thought that if we worked with something different for a while, I would be extra-happy when we go back to the cozy set-up.
The old set-up:
The day had to begin with taking out the exercise bike. We put it on the curb and listed it as ‘free’ on the ‘Seward Swap’ Facebook page. It was gone by 4:00.
We tinkered with a few different arrangements. I disliked all of them, but the cats LOVED them. Ralph ran under every place the sofa went. It was a diving extravaganza.
Eventually we settled on the least annoying new version. Again, I don’t love it, but it will be good to live with it for a while.
The old way, I could prop my feet up wherever I sat. Now the trunk/ottoman is only useful for the sofa. I see some tinkering in my future. I started with a collapsible stool and some foam.
It’ll do. Plus, I can hide it when not in use.
It was a productive day, but the shabbiness of the furniture cannot be ignored any longer. I sent some photos to a re-upholstery place in Lincoln and have asked for some quotes. We’ll see if we get new fabric or new furniture.
