Lloyd, you’re up in two days.
Yeah. It seems every evening has become a Friday evening around here. I get home, eat something, then sit uselessly for an hour or two before going to bed. Oh, and there’s wine involved. I did manage to process a load of laundry last night, so there’s that.
Here’s to Friday. Have a good one.

Well, Christmastime is coming around, and as usual, I am irritable about gift-giving. It is not my love language. I do not like receiving gifts and I suck at giving them. We are doing a Secret Santa thing at work and I seriously think about writing an apology with every trinket. “Sorry you had to have me.” On the flip side, my Secret Santa is fabulously clever and has showered me with clever generosity. Oh, my stomach.
Anyway, the gist of this is that I am not going to go nuts trying to give my kids a personalized present. They all love to make stuff with masking tape – which is $.96 a roll at Wal-Mart – so that’s what they’re each going to get. A roll of tape with ribbon that makes it look semi wreath-like. Imagine that I’ve already done that and posted a picture of them.
… want to wrap some rolls of tape for me?

I made ‘stuff from the freezer thrown in the crock pot to cook all day’ soup that was excellent, enjoyed it with a couple of glasses of wine and watched some mind-numbing tv while Lloyd went to a school concert. I am totally winning at being a Norweigian.

It was an eventful weekend, what with the cookie baking and singing in church. We also met up with Sam and Rachel to fry up some fish that had been sitting for years in our freezer. They only had a small fryer, so Lloyd bought another one. (Heating appliance one)
Then, I saw this awesome photo on the internet and thought, “I gotta make that.”
Who’s kidding who? I’m not building things right now. I did get a cheap fake wood stove (heating appliance two), though, and just made do. I’ll just use the lights, not the heater when it’s on the shelf. I love fire but I’m not crazy.
In sadder news, the oven died. Dang it!! (Heating appliance three, dang it.)
