I love English muffin bread. Those toasted slices, with a swipe of butter melting on…… that’s the best. Mmmmmmmm……….
I thought that it should be possible to make a loaf. It’s just bread, right?
Well, it’s a bit different. It needs scalded milk, which was new for me, and more yeast than my no-knead stuff, and once it’s mixed, it just gets spread in a greased, cornmeal-dusted pan. (I didn’t have cornmeal, but I have some weird, grainy flour.)
You let it rise once and then bake it. I liked the ease of that.
Wow! A rectangular loaf! I’ve never made one of those before. Mmmmmm……
I sliced it, toasted it and…….. bleh.
Some idiot forgot to add salt.
It’s ok if you salt it.

Hahaha! Well written! I laughed out loud!
You’ll have to perfect the recipe, then share it with me. I love the English muffin toast I have at your house, and I can never find it for sale anywhere.

I made this one, but I halved it for one loaf: https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/homemade-english-muffin-bread/ Remember the salt. Salt is key. 😉

So, let me get this straight…. You recommend using salt in this recipe????
