Tired

I forgot to write a post last night, so I’m catching up this morning. Today (Friday) is the last day before we re-open. I am super-great at procrastinating and denial, so I’ve been doing lots and lots of jobs around the building, but meanwhile, my room is the last thing to get ready. I spent a good chunk of yesterday afternoon just trying to put away all the stuff that has been sitting out on tables for months. My reasoning was that it was pointless to put it away if I was going to need it, so the contents of my cabinets have been out for a loooooong time.

Today’s mission is to finish putting it all away, and then try to catch up with my coworkers regarding planning. Ask me how much I have planned. The answer is really, really tiny. All I have so far is to teach the “COVID Bummer” song that I’m sure will sweep the nation. The lyrics are endlessly writable.

I gotta wear a mask! (She's gotta wear a mask!)
I can't hug my friends. (I can't hug my friends!)
Stay six feet back! (Stay six feet back!)
And that's a COVID bummer! (Bummerbummerbummerbummer!)

Wish me luck. "I gotta clean my room!".......

Today (Friday) was the last day of the school-year schedule for our preschool. They had a “drive through” graduation. I saw parts of it. It was really fun. The families had their cars decorated, and the kids got balloons and goody bags. So fun!

We are not having a summer preschool program this year.

Planning? Would it be possible to simply let the children play and let the caregivers talk with the kids all day?

Yes, yes, yes -- that is the extent of my plan, itโ€™s just figuring out how to harangue the room and figure out how to make a stab at having them play semi-apart. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love the song. Wish I could be of some help. Every kid will love being there because they have been apart so long.
