Today the child development center opens after being closed for 2 1/2 months. The staff has been working hard to get protocols in place so that everything is as safe and routines go as smoothly as possible. There are a lot of restrictions for us: class-size, staying in one space with one class, staff wearing protective gear, and making a stab at social distancing. We are all aware that nothing is going to go perfectly, but we are doing our best.
My personal situation/outlook will change a little bit, too. I’ve never been frightened by this virus, though I do remember when Lloyd got sick with a virus and it affected his heart. That’s always in the back of my mind. Now, I’m thinking about the responsibility to my class. If I am exposed to someone who has the virus, I am out of the classroom, and we all know I don’t make good substitute lesson plans. It also might mean that the children can’t come for two weeks, and that would be an inconvenience for families. So, that is on my mind.
so some prayers for everything to go as well as possible from now until forever would be wonderfully welcome, and have a great Monday!

Prayers for a great first day back, protection from illness, and for joyful reunions!
