There once was a boy, not so thrifty. He lived on an island - how nifty! His mom came to visit, and said, "What day is it? 'Tis the day that you turn one and fifty!" Happy Birthday, Brad! I didn't fly out to see you. Maybe we'll save that one for your 60th?

Updated photos
I’m just dropping some photos of the basement situation. They have cut away the drywall, cleaned out the walls, and set up some super-dryers and a gigantic dehumidifier. Lookin’ good.
Thanks, City.
Sunday evening entailed an unexpected adventure. My director called and said, “I have bad news.” Another teacher had stopped by the center and reported a terrible smell. The source? Sewage. Sewage that backed up through ALL the floor drains in the basement: 9 drains in 5 rooms that leaked into 8 spaces. Not just water, either, but….. sludge.
My director, her husband, our pastor, our facilities director and his wife and son, Lloyd and I spent a couple of hours in the grossness. We made a fine team and got rid of the worst of it, squeegeeing and flushing it out from under the furnaces in the maintenance rooms, the squeegeeing again. Nobody barfed! We aired everything out as best we could and set up fans to get it dry.
Today, the big guns took over. A disaster restoration company tore up carpet and cut away damaged drywall and they will make everything good-as-new. It will take a while, but God bless people who know what they’re doing.
The source of the flood? The city was doing something somewhere along the line, and our neighborhood took the brunt. The city (and insurance, I would imagine) will foot the bill.
One gross photo follows, but just one.
