The pirate bugs are back.
Do you know about pirate bugs? They are tiny little insects that only seem to appear in early fall. They don’t sting – they bite. They have a tiny, painful little bite that serves no purpose except to find out if people are food. They stick around until it gets colder and then they’re gone. Where have they been the rest of the summer?
Anyway, the problem is that our mornings are nice and cool, so we’re all wearing long sleeves, but in the afternoon our arms are getting attacked by these weirdos.
Oh well, at least it’s a sign that it’s getting cooler.

We call those nasty things “no see-ums.” They’re terrible.
