We went to see Lloyd’s school’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and let me just say – it was awesome! Those kids did an amazing job, and it was chock full of Royuks! Rachel was in the chorus, and Brent was in the orchestra. It was great. I took a couple of pictures of the cast afterwards, but of course they all turned out blurry. Let me instead take you on a walk down memory lane.
The spring that Lloyd and I were engaged, Concordia put on this same musical. Many of our friends were involved in the production, but not us. I envisioned of the two of us snuggling together and planning a wedding while others rehearsed (insert barfing sounds here)….. then it turned out that they needed another tenor so they drafted Lloyd.
Colors faded into darkness, I was left alone.
Here are some photos of the involved persons. This is Kathryn, my super-talented operatic roommate who was the Narrator:
Lloyd (playing Gad) is sitting down and to the right, with the puppy-dog, wobegone eyes. Those Canaan days, where did they go?
And this is the only shot of Brad. I couldn’t find him in the group shot, but look under Joseph’s arm (his right) – I’d recognize that forehead anywhere.
I got a lot of homework done that spring.
