We did quite a lot in Omaha before ukulele night: I bought some St. Patrick’s Day goodies at Nobbies, snooped around Whole Foods (where we bought lunch), walked around the Old Market, and then it was time to go to Confluence. As we drove down 13th Street, we saw some crazy-cool looking buildings. “What are those??” I gasped. We turned the car around to go see them, found out that they were new condos being built, and ironically – this is the sign by their entrance:
They are the Rows at Soma, incredibly hip urban townhomes with shocking style for Omaha! Best of all, the floorplan is TINY! Have I gone on and on about my obsession with tiny living spaces yet? These were just fantastic – the model home had a 2-car garage/half-bath on the first floor, kitchen/dining/living room on the second floor, two bedrooms & a bathroom on the third, and a rooftop deck. (Click that link to see the awesome floorplans.) It was decorated so beautifully, but all our interior pictures are blurry. (I’m having camera troubles that I can’t speak about without getting a stomachache. Please don’t ask.) Here’s another from the roof:
The only drawback – besides the fact that I don’t live in Omaha, and also that I don’t have enough money, and also that I’m not cool enough to live there – is that my creaky old-lady knees couldn’t take going up and down all those stairs. *sigh*

I like that almost all the floor plans have a bathroom right next to the front door and garage. It would be perfect for all those times you’re rushing home because you drank a big gas station Pepsi and really have to go to the bathroom.
Lauren says
ExACTly! It’s like they read people’s minds!
Beth says
Yea…those are cool.
Peggy says
What the…am I over the rainbow? New site design…cool houses!
I like the kitchen in the Sunchaser. I’ve always, always wanted an island of my very own!
Lloyd says
Yay, Peggy’s back. I did the new design just for you.
kiwe says
I love them! Especially because one of the floor plans is named “Firefly” cool!
kiwe says
Oh, and giants are welcomed to live there.
Lloyd says
At first I didn’t know what you were talking about. Then I did.
kiwe says
That happens to me everyday.
Lauren says
I didn’t know either, so Lloyd had to show me. To everyone else: Click on the link, go to the second floor, and click on the dots in the rooms. Funny!
Curt says
Hey, it would be a perfect place for me. I wouldn’t hit my head on the ceiling anymore. Alright, I over exaggerate. At least I wouldn’t hit my hands on the ceiling or accidentally rip the light fixtures down. (stupid low hanging fixtures)
Curt says
Or get my fro caught in the ceiling fan. That sucks!!
Deanne says
Is anyone buying these in Omaha? If not, then maybe the price will come down to somewhere near your range. check if they have condo fees…
