I keep missing days lately. Two days ago (May the Fourth) I completely missed that it was Star Wars day. I have a tie that I could have worn, but I didn’t know about it until I got home on the 4th. Yesterday, I didn’t have any sort of tie to wear for Cinco de Mayo, so I wore the Star Wars tie a day late. Today I also found out it was (National?) teacher appreciation day. I have a fair number of teacher ties, but again, I was a day late.
I’d also been counting down the days until National Cartoonists day. I thought I’d mention that XKCD is my favorite comic, and that Ted Mallory is the only cartoonist that I know. Do you think Ted will notice if I post one of his cartoons? Lets find out…
Oh, I missed National Cartoonists Day too (another tie opportunity lost). Is there anything else coming up that I can look forward to missing?
Brad says
Today is George Clooney’s birthday. Maybe you could wear a tuxedo to school.
Lauren says
For those of you unaware of the Star Wars thing, look here. It took me a while to get it.
By the way, Lloyd, “only cartoonist you know?” Really? Did you miss the ladybugs?
Lloyd says
I think to be a cartoonist you have to have a caption.
Karla says
I suppose you missed No Pants day last week also? I always thought you were more on top of things…
Lloyd says
Is that one of them there double entendre thingies?
Karla says
http://www.nopantsday.com -- you decide. 🙂
Todd Peperkorn says
May 7 is CFW Walther day. DON’T FORGET!
beth (sam's 2nd wife) says
And the National Day of Prayer!
Lloyd says
I have a CFW Walther miniture. You know, the old painted figurines made of led or pewter or something? Great to use as a cleric in DnD Campaigns.
Todd Peperkorn says
I think you should carry CFW around with you tomorrow. For a couple years at our Academy we took CFW Walther day off. Any excuse for a day off in May….
Deanne says
Isn’t there some sort of alert you can get to keep you up to date on the “days”?
Lloyd says
Hmmm, an iPhone app, perhaps? Maybe that’s how I will make my millions.
Deanne says
My brother (a programmer, or developer, or whatever you want to call him) is wondering if apps are the next THING for him. A friend set him up with a super-Mac (don’t recall which one) and he’s trying his hand on apps. We should send him this idea!!
