Oops. I fell asleep on the couch again. I don’t regret it at all…. except that I rented a movie for $3.99 and only watched a dollar’s worth of it. Oh, well – sleep is its own entertainment for me.
Happy Saturday, everyone!

I got a text from Beth today saying ‘Happy Birthday’ to the cats. I completely forgot. (I’m not good at remembering human birthdays.) She asked if we going to have a party for them. We did not, but I did make a hat and sent a photo to Awesome Godmother Beth. She saved them from the cold concrete at their birth, taking a crazed mama cat tooth-clamp to the calf for those little nuggets.
There’s an extra photo of Wally to show his dislike of the hat. To be fair, I haven’t hatted a cat since I was a child. I’m off my game.

We applied for a grant to provide chairs, tables, cots, a few bookcases and a dishwasher for the new CDC and it came through. Hooray!
I’ve tried making some lists about what needs to be purchased, both with the grant funds and also our own. The lists are, in scatterbrained Lauren fashion, in a notebook, a folder that I can’t find, and on the backs of some old bills. And maybe an envelope. Today I started to compile it all in the only way that made sense to me. When I was explaining it to Lloyd over the phone he said, “It sounds like you need a spreadsheet.”
“That,” I replied, “is what I have.”
Stuff, spread out over a sheet of paper. Right?
(It might be hard to make out: They are color-coded tables, shelves, chairs, etc. )

I have a new little boy this summer. He just comes a couple of days a week so really, today is just the start of his second week. He’s wiggly, loud, excessively physical while playing, and the kind of chatty that doesn’t make sense, like Bella…
….but he calls airplanes ‘hairplanes’, so I forgive everything.

I went to bed early last night. The person who opened at the center is a Concordia grad and has moved on to his new grown-up job, so my director and I are splitting his shift for the rest of the summer.
Add the fact that I ate a gas station egg roll on Saturday’s trip and was having some stomach issues, I’m glad for the extra rest. We’ll all catch up tomorrow.
