In honor of your day, we are all putting and extra hour in our back pockets to get out in the fall. 😀

Directory Photo
Thursday night Lloyd and I went back for our second-ever church directory photo. I was hungry and a little tired, but the young snippet of a girl who ran the camera was cheery in a not-overbearing way. My glasses are perpetually glare-filled, though, which seems appropriate since they’re attached to my glaring face.
Afterward we sat through a non-awful sales presentation. We bought a couple and paid through the nose, but blessedly it was over and done within twenty minutes.
Out at night.
So, every other night this week I’ve been in bed before eight o’clock. I didn’t feel sick – it just seemed like the thing to do. Tonight, however, I went to a concert. In Lincoln, no less.
A dear lady that used to work at the CDC long ago has a son who is getting his second doctoral degree – this one in music. Tonight was the world premiere of his work, performed by the UNL woodwind ensemble. It was lovely, and I was glad that my friend Kate asked me to go along.
Anyway, it’s late now and I have been up two hours past my bedtime, so this is short and sweet.
So windy!
The past two nights I’ve woken up several times in the night, certain that trees were getting ripped apart outside. I think it has settled down for a while, but holy cow – it was so windy!
In other news. I have the hiccups as I type. I need a scary wind to frighten them out of me. 🙂
Ralph is very needy.
*sigh* Ralph yells a lot. Unfortunately, we do his bidding because he is sooooo loud and whiny. I know, I know – he has trained us well.
Did I mention it’s a lot of yelling?
Sunday Report
Lloyd had services at the nursing home on Sunday. As usual, he woke up well before dawn to write ‘put the finishing touches’ on his sermon. I didn’t go along this time. Y’know – savin’ the lives of the elderly is what I’m all about.
On the home front, I ate several servings of magic yogurt, and I think that it has done the trick. I felt well enough to process all the laundry and even went outside for a little bit. I took the bolt cutters to the rose bush that grows wild on the south side of the house. When the wind blows the branches scrrrrraatttch the siding and windows, so I chopped the heck out of it, then cut the long, twisty arms into manageable sticks that would fit in a box. It was only about ten minutes of work, but I’m very proud of me. No photos, of course.
Here’s looking ahead to a normal week!
