A delay

June 3, 2022 by Lauren 2 Comments

No new washer yet. Lloyd had to ask the to wait a week since he had an eye appointment the same day. No worries – it’s just that we have loads to do and I’m a little worried that I’ll walk down to a ‘finished’ load sitting in a tub of water. We’ll chance it anyway.

Yesterday I helped Lloyd take a load of Marxhausen art to our local art gallery. It was nice to do a different kind of work in the late afternoon, and that was good for me.

Today is the final day of the first week of summer. After the kids leave it will be time to get the building ready for Sunday’s portion of the early childhood conference. I wonder how much will get done tonight, and how much will wait until tomorrow……..

Happy Friday!

Loads of laundry and loads of Marxhausen art made me want to think of an alliterative title, but I could not come up with anything…

A quick visit

June 1, 2022 by Lauren Leave a Comment

Mark’s here! He’s doing some visits for his work, and stayed the night. We ate an overly-salty dinner (not my fault – honestly!) and then had a very pleasant evening visiting. Beth stopped by for a different reason, and stayed for some lovely conversation. It’s awfully nice to connect with family, and I feel blessed […]

Sunday and Monday

May 31, 2022 by Lauren Leave a Comment

Sorry that I don’t have any pictures for this. I was either super-busy or lazy. Sunday I went to church, then over to work for a couple of hours. I’m not very efficient at getting things done, but my mantra is, “Everything I’m doing needs to be done.” That way I’m not berating myself for […]

Friday and Saturday

May 29, 2022 by Lauren 2 Comments

Tuesday is the start of the summer program, and next Sunday is the first day of Concordia’s early childhood conference.(Monday is the second day.) I spent 10 hours at work on Friday and am decidedly not ready for either event. I’ve got some pockets of time today and tomorrow to work on things, so by […]

More about the Colorado trip

May 28, 2022 by Lauren 5 Comments

I told you about Sunday, and on Monday we had some nice visiting. In the afternoon, we decided to go for a drive on Grand Mesa. It’s funny that this glorious place is literally in my Dad’s backyard. (He actually lives on the side of the Mesa.) Lloyd had fun driving – he likes the […]

Late post

May 26, 2022 by Lauren 5 Comments

We had a great visit with my Dad. We ate, hung out and even helped with some jobs. The photos are on Lloyd’s phone, though, so I’ll show those tomorrow. We did a lot of ‘road less traveled’ drives, and coming home was no exception. We drove over Grand Mesa to get to the interstate, […]
