(I just saw a friend’s post on Facebook that said, “If thinking about ‘self care’ doesn’t resonate with you, call it ‘system maintenance’. If you don’t schedule it, your body will schedule it.” Well, we’ll say that I did this for my mind and my soul.)
We went camping Saturday night. The weather has cooled down enough that nighttime sleeping is a little chilly, and that’s totally my temperature. We went back to the place we went for our anniversary, because having a hammock for reading is Lloyd’s Key to a Happy Time. In fact, everything was nearly the same, so I didn’t even bother with photos. We made brats for dinner, eggs for breakfast and hung out and read. I did send a video to my family, so maybe I can snag a screenshot off of that and add it it later.
Here we go:
I love the peace, I love the quiet. (Except for the RVs a little ways off with their generators. I wanted to vandalize their equipment.) I love all the nonsense of setting up temporary life and then putting it away again. Anyway, regardless of the low hum of distant motors, being outside and just sitting is very restorative…. especially when there’s a fire. 😀
