On fire!

May 31, 2008 by Lauren 15 Comments

I got more work done before noon today than I usually do all weekend. Granted, I stayed in my jammies until 3:30, but that didn’t deter me. Three main things got done:

I hung up a holder for the baritone uke. Now there’s no excuse not to annoy Lloyd on a regular basis.

I ‘cleaned’ the tool bench. It still has a way to go, but it looks a hundred percent better.

better

And last, I liquid starched a piece of an old sheet to the bottom of the kitchen window, and sewed a little thingie for the top. I’m most pleased how the color blends right it. It’s almost like we don’t have a window anymore!
Now those pesky neighbors can’t watch me dance.

For the rest of the weekend, I shall sleep – guilt-free!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about just getting rid of stuff.

Have I not used it in a year? Get rid of it.
Does it not have monetary value? Get rid of it.
It its only function decorative? Get rid of it.

It would be interesting to see what that would feel like, and to see what my house would look like. But I don’t think I could do it.

Do it. That’s what I do and I love being free of “stuff.” It is so worth it.

I am totally on board with that. This house is junkin’ up and it’s making me crazy. I say we all make a pact and toss/give away…. three things before next week? (I’ll start with Lloyd’s tux! 😉 )

I think it’s been used in the last year…though it’s only function is decorative…

          Hmm…it’s a toss up.

And, after all that, she came over to watch a game of Settler’s of Catan. Whew!

You go, girl! And when you’ve done enough projects in your house, I have a few things that you can do in my house, too.

Wow! There’s only one item on your refrigerator. I guess painting your kitchen will do that to a person.

Alright Lauren!!! You’ve inspired me … to make a list anyway.

I’m going to start by bringing in the garden hose & givng the whole house a once over.

And by the way, I LOVE the curtain. Very elegant. Clean lines.

Is that cross taped down on the window sill?

No, I’m not a cross-taper. (Warning: This was an inside joke.)
