I actually enjoyed the CPR class I took last Saturday. The instructor was smart and to-the-point and told us ahead of time that this class could be a LOT longer, but we would be doing it the efficient way. It helped that all of us had taken it several times before.
Things have changed so much since I first started doing this. Everyone – adult/child/infant – is 30 compressions to 2 breaths (that changed a while ago), but the latest change that threw me is that we don’t check for a pulse at all, ever. I guess it’s because people were wasting time searching for a pulse. They’ve made everything much, much simpler so that more people will do something, because something is better than nothing.
Anyway, I was so inspired, I bought CPR masks-in-a-bag-on-a-keychain to keep with our emergency bags at school. I do so love a good gadget. Go, go gadget keychain!

I don’t see you in the spam or pending folders. Maybe you’ve finally gone crazy?

My original comment said something like this:
My takeaway from doing CPR two years ago was that it doesn’t work like they show it in movies. My teacher said when you do CPR it doesn’t start people’s hearts again. Defibrillators to that. You’re just keeping blood going to the patient’s brain until the EMT’s arrive.
