Well, it was very, very snowy here this morning, so we didn’t go to church. (It’s alright, though – we have a pastor in our midst.) Instead we hunkered down and visited, which was lovely.
Around noon, the snow stopped and Lloyd was amazed at its perfect consistency. Dad was talking about firing up his snow blower, but Lloyd said we couldn’t waste such once-in-a-decade snow. So, he and I were on grunt detail, then called on my brother Phil for his artistic expertise. He did all the carving, we helped with smoothing. I think it turned out rather well.
My parents’ neighbors have a huge Christmas light display that people drive by to see, so we’re getting some good publicity with this. 🙂
Merry Christmas!

(Btw: who went in the snow in bare feet)
Lloyd says
That was me. It was too much work to go upstairs to get socks and shoes.

I always wanted to build a snow fort, but was always afraid it would collapse on me and I would suffocate.
Lloyd says
We spent many a recess turning the piles of snow from the church parking lot into forts.
