Today our staff met at the new CDC site to look around. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day- the weather was gorgeous, and it was great to get to walk around and see where the different rooms are. Of course, since the walls are just studs, it makes the whole this seems bigger than it is, but trust me, it’s plenty big.
There is one room that still needs some concrete poured, and now that the ground has thawed and is drying out, that may happen this week.
So strange to see it actually taking shape. Strange, but fantastic!
UPDATE: For my Dad, who has great ideas. 🙂
Brad says
When I see the framing for walls, it always makes me think that building a house would be so easy. You just nail some boards together into wall shapes, and cover them with drywall.
That’s all it is, right? Right?
Lauren's dad says
That is exciting to see, but not as exciting as to be walking through it! Before installing drywall, what about the preschoolers printing their names on the studs. Staff could write Bible passage references. Parents, too.
Lauren says
That is a great idea, but I don’t know if I’d take preschoolers through the building -- there is too much they could either hurt themselves on or (with our luck) break. We do have two beams downstairs that were signed by the students and the congregation, I’ll try to find those photos and post them. 🙂
