Well, that didn’t work out. At the grocery store, I grabbed some dark chocolate because I wanted to play with it. See, I think I’ve got this ‘tempering’ thing down now – just using the microwave and barely melting it, then seeding it with chunks of chocolate. I found an old mold from my lotion bar days and started out.
Hey, let’s add peanut butter powder to this craziness!
I couldn’t find my one tea strainer, so I used this one. (Have you seen my other tea strainer?)
Annnnnddd…. here’s my first mistake. I didn’t spread the chocolate out soon enough. See those blobs?
Well, my blobs set up too fast. So much for my magical tempering skilz.
Dang it.
So, here are my perfectly smooth squares of dark chocolate with a slight sprinkle of peanut butter power.
Dang it.
Brad says
…but how do they taste?
Also, how long does peanut butter powder last? Isn’t that jar from last summer?
Lauren says
They taste mildly peanut-y for a bit, then the chocolate is the main flavor.
The powder’s expiration date is March 26 of this year. I think it’s a post-apocalyptic food staple.
Kristi says
I’ve never heard of peanut butter powder. What can you do with it (besides pour it straight into your mouth)?
Lauren says
You mix it with water and *poof*! Peanut butter!
I have yet to realize it’s appeal.
