Tonight was the Kindergarten and 8th Grade graduation service at St. John. One of the kindergarteners is my godson, and Macy, Anna Sommerer and Anna Royuk are 8th graders, so I was happy to go. I took a bunch of pictures from the balcony, including some shaky video that I’m trying to edit. That’s why this is very short. We’ll see if the video gets done.
Anna is the chapel buddy of a past preschooler, Isaac! They all walked in together. It was very sweet.
Go, Kindergarteners!
Go, Macy! She won a big award – I forget the name.
Afterward there was a reception for the parents (I crashed it) where they showed adorable side-by-sides and read adorable stories. The whole thing was pretty adorable.
Congrats, grads!
Ok, this video was more of a pain than I thought. I didn’t know they’d be singing, so the initial* video was of an ipad flopping around. I tried detaching the audio and adding the words several times, but there was a problem. Oh, you’ll also hear a phone ring (not mine) and a camera clicking nearby.
* ‘Initial’ has a lot of ‘i’s in it.

Stupid St. John and your stupid songs that make my eyes water. I feel like an idiot sitting here watching a video and getting teary.
(I really like that song. Is it published? Do I already have a copy of it? I need the piano accompaniment.)
Deborah says
The song is “By Faith” by Keith and Krysten Getty. There is sheet music and a website. Gettymusic.com.

Thanks for the info! I just bought it. The piano part isn’t quite like the recording, but you do have a piano guy there who tends to go off the music every now and again. I like his arrangement better. I think I might be able to fake parts of it by listening to the video.

Thank you, Lauren for your pictures and video! It was a wonderful evening. We are so proud of all of these amazing young people. They will be missed at St. John.

Deborah -- What was the awesome award that Macy received? I bet it was something like “Outstanding Contributor to 8th Grade”. Am I right?
Deborah says
That’s it exactly. 🙂
