The rings that the guys put in are fabulous, but I live in fear for what licensing will say about ‘no sharp edges’, so I am rounding things off.
I used quick-setting stuff and even watched a YouTube video, so I’m pretty much an expert now. I started with the toddler sandbox to round the top a little. Cleaning it was the hard part since mud kept washing back over it, but then I just slapped on the mixture and shaped it by hand to get rid of the hard corner.
I stuck leaves on it. It turned out all right. It was like working with sandy play dough.
The ends of the tunnel were a little more difficult. I just kept thinking of the cement as stucco. It worked out ok. Here’s an inside edge that I still have to do:
Here’s the smoothed, non-sharp edge.

The leaves are a great idea. It all looks smooth and wonderful!

You are a genius. Repeat that 100 times, and you’ll have a small idea with how impressed I am with your style and creativity.
Brad says
I like the leaves pressed into the cement. Very cool.
Did you use your bare hands when you worked the concrete… er… cement? You’re not supposed to. (Full disclosure: I’ve done it)
Lauren says
I wore gloves, but some cement water got in there, so they are a little dry.
Dad -- I saw your email. I did buy concrete adhesive. YouTube did not let me down. 🙂
Mom says
Great job! You impress me.
