On my ‘sit around in my pajamas and sniff/cough all day’ Sunday, I ran a load of dishes and heard a weird water sound. I wondered about it, saw that there was some water on the floor…. then did nothing.
Later, we were moving laundry around in the basement and there was water on the floor. Looking up (where the dishwasher is), there was evidence that this leak had been happening for a while. Dang it. Now we had to do something.
Then I remembered I was sick, so Lloyd had to do something about it. I took pictures.
He did some investigating. There wasn’t any water underneath the actual machine (whew), but the inside hinge was DIRTY. Like, make-me-gag-and-nearly-puke gross. There is also a vent there, and after Lloyd cleaned it out, it seems to be running just fine.
I was annoyed. This thing is just five years old. I said that if it breaks, we are buying the cheapest, least fancy model known to man. A real workhorse. Lloyd reminded me that we have a commercial dishwasher just sitting in our entryway. Sure, but where will we store the beer?

So the water wasn’t coming from the dishwasher? Or it was, but not from the spot you thought?

I have no idea. It was making a puddle by the left side of the door. My internet repairman says it’s a faulty blah-blah-blah valve near that vent? I think Lloyd may have fixed it by just cleaning the gunk out. Only time will tell.

I see that I forgot the banner picture when I first posted. Now you can see that vent. 🙂

Is that flashlight attached to Lloyd’s head?
Lauren says
Hee hee -- it’s one of those rectangular flashlights from Haebor Freight. It’s so awesome it eserves its own post.
