I rode into Lincoln with Lloyd and Brad so they could meet up with Samith and watch a movie. I watched my own movie: Wonder Woman. It was great. The dangerous part was that it was a theater with recliner-style seats, so when I settled in I thought, “Great. Another expensive nap.” I’m glad to report that I stayed awake through the whole thing.
Afterward, we all went to the capitol. After talking to so many people in the gallery about the Marxhausen art, I didn’t have a clear memory of seeing the murals that he did. (Lloyd says that I’ve been there, but I have the memory of a goldfish.)
The building did not disappoint. It is HUGE!! There are so many giant hallways and understatedly-grand stairs, it’s like walking through a huge fortress with murals and mosaics and carvings on nearly every surface. I didn’t get enough pictures of the hallways, but I feel the need to go back. Here are the boys by Marxhausen’s pieces.
We took the rickety elevator to the 14th floor to look out over the city. I am normally fine in elevators, but this one is a little frightening. The view is worth it, though.
All in all, a great day. 🙂

That is so cool! We may have to go take a look at that when we are in town with Anne.

That elevator was a singular experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who visits the capitol building.
