Ralph’s head is always wet. If not his head (the tub drips), then his chin (which also drips. Water, not drool.).
Why’s that picture all stretched out?

So, the Ralph story is that he has lost about two pounds (10% of his body weight) with the new diet, and he is peeing less. Hallelujah! It is less of a struggle to get him to eat his wet food in the bathroom, too. He loses his mind when I feed the other two, but once I put his plate in front of his face and he registers (after several seconds) “MINE!!”, he will walk to the bathroom with me.

I’m going to wait on the silly cat post. Thursday was a tough day. My students are not behaving as I would have hoped after our ten (or more) months together, and I’ve recently found out that my well-behaved ones are leaving for the summer and my rough ones are going to be joined by younger rough ones.
My dear friend that I’ve worked side-by-side with for 26 years is retiring at the end of the month. I don’t deal well with that thought.
My mom had a very hard day yesterday, and she and my dad and sister are dealing with some feelings.
Ugh. So many feelings. Let’s just get through today, shall we?
It has been a long week, but it was so nice to come home tonight since Lloyd was finishing up the taxes….. with three days to spare!
I was going to do a Ralph update, but I’m having trouble uploading video. I’ll save that for tomorrow. (Don’t fret, he’s doing great.)
Happy Thursday, y’all!

That’s not a rage statement, although I did have a very difficult day – it’s a fact. I would never take my feelings out on butterflies.
One of my parents said that her daughter got a butterfly kit in the mail, and would I like to have it in the classroom? I flat-out lied and said,”Yes! That would be great!” What I meant was, “No. I have enough guilt about the plants I kill.” *sigh* Ok.
We have actually been gifted several butterfly kits, with coupons to get the caterpillars, and I thank the parent but then put it in storage. However, this time the caterpillars were already there, munching away on their weird brown goo.
Over the weekend, all five made their little chrysallises. Chrysalides? Two of them have fallen down, but the pamphlet assures me that ‘this happens in nature’ and ‘don’t worry about it’ and ‘we already have your $25 bucks’. Today I transferred everything into the habitat, including the fallen two, and we’ll just see what happens.
I think they are going to emerge over the weekend, which means I will forget to check on them…… and they will die.
Sorry butterflies. I’m doin’ everything I can.
Let me begin by thanking you for the prayers for my family. Mom is home now, and Dad and Keren are working hard to make it safe and comfortable. Continued prayers would be wonderful!
So…… our taxes aren’t done. I woke up early on Saturday and had a little fire, then got out all the receipts and bills to sort and tally up. Lloyd woke up, took a look at the table and said, “But we need to return that stuff to Lincoln, right?” So we went to Lincoln to return the stuff from last week’s shed adventure that didn’t work. When we came home, of course we needed to do the shed work. I also bought a hose and sprinkler to water the tomatoes, so that took a little time. Then…….. Lloyd said he wanted to read in the shed for a while since it was supposed to rain and he wanted to hear it on a metal roof that wasn’t a barn from his childhood.
Um, he read until bedtime. (I also am reading. I’m on the 4th Dune book, Brad.)
Sunday, went much the same. We did odd jobs and completely avoided the taxes, with the exception of my finding a few more papers to add.
Lloyd assures me he will work on them tonight as I finish up conferences.
Hee hee.
