For one dumb reason or another, I have been out to Wal*Mart nearly every evening this week. Last night it was just a quick trip to get ta couple of things, and I think I was out in about ten minutes. Back in the parking lot, I realized I had left my lights on. “Hope my bum battery is alright,” I muttered. (The battery does not do well in winter.)
Um, no. It was not. The truck didn’t start.
Great. It was cold and windy, but luckily, Sam has provided me with enough jumper cables to jump-start Nebraska. I grabbed a set, asked a guy for a cup of electricity, and was on my way. Back home, I let the truck idle for a good long time to keep things going. (I only drive it 7/10ths of a mile twice a day, so no wonder it has trouble.)
Thanks, Sam.

Ha! “…a cup of electricity…” Nice!

My new commute to work in March will be 1.2 miles, I am concerned a bit about the car never really ‘warming’ up, especially in the winter . . . you give me things to think about.
