We had a workday on Friday with some meetings and some trainings, and then I set to work doing something I actually like to do – messing around.
Last year we named our classrooms. I’m not a big fan of that because usually early childhood classrooms are named something stupid like ‘monkeys’ or ‘butterflies’. Gag. We have just referred to them by either the teacher name or what they are: 3s preschool/Mrs. InsertNameHere, but some of the names were rather long to write out. Whatever. I pushed for tree names since that at least sounds respectable. We also have college students who think that we are just childcare and will ask, “Do you have preschool here?” Grrrrrrr. YES. It is preschool! (I will swallow my anger and go on.)
Anyway, I bought some vinyl lettering and put it up!
It is so satisfying peeling the backing off. It makes me feel like I have excellent handwriting!
Funny story, though. As I was moving the ladder, I apparently lifted it too fast and dislodged the pair of scissors that was on top. (I was 90% sure I had them dangling in the hole, but I might not have.)
See the pink handles? That pair of adult scissors went up and down…… on my head. Yes, it hurt.

I like the tree name idea. Good thing no one suggested “monkey puzzle tree” as one of the choices.
I’m glad you didn’t stab your brain with the scissors.

That looks so nice!
