…. it’s worth overdoing.
One of the problems with being older is that I absolutely don’t need anything. Sure, there are things that I want (*cough* tiny butane stove *cough*), but I don’t need much of anything.
Anna, though? Anna needs something.
Anna is Sam and Rachel’s daughter, and she is getting married next spring. They have a vision for the reception tables: on each table, several bud vases with just a flower or two each, and enough to send a vase home with guests. Rachel sent out an all-call to The Friends to keep an eye out for bud vases at garage sales/thrift stores.
Oh, man. This is just what I needed! Lloyd and I have been visiting all our old thrift store haunts and have cleaned up. My spending limit is $2 a vase, but we have found so many cool bottles, salt shakers and actual vases it’s not even funny. And there is still so much time!
We have been taking photos as the collection accumulates…..
The problem now is that Lloyd really likes our table filled with these vases. No worries. The thrift stores will always be there.
Side story: In the Goodwill store, I was trying to send a text to The Friends about my haul using speech-to-text, but it heard – and typed – ‘butt faces’ instead of ‘bud vases’. Oops.

I love the spiral.

AND… if not all the guests take the bud vases home, Lloyd can once again fill his table with the leftovers.

I bet the cats love the vase maze. Crash!

I love having a Quest. When I finally find something I’m looking for, I almost feel a little disappointed. But since you’re looking for a lot of them, you can keep looking and looking. Awesome!
