This is a nothing post, but I’ve been buying the three-pack of romaine lettuce, rinsing it, then entombing it in a big restaurant container. It lasts forever!

This is not a nothing post. I’ve been wanting to try this, but I’ve always been afraid the lettuce will get slimy……beings it’s partial wet. Is there anything else you do to keep it fresh?
Hi, Peggy! I chop the bottoms off the bunches (so they’ll fit), give them a good rinse and plonk them in the container. It stays on the counter for half an hour or so, then I pour out any of the water that’s settled to the bottom. Lid on and in the fridge. The first time I use it I pour out any other water that’s collected. It’s almost magical how long it lasts. 🙂
