Dad has moved to a private room! I can talk about it here, because nobody reads it but you guys.
When he first moved into the assisted living facility, he was in a shared apartment that had a common space, shared bathroom, and two bedrooms. Their website is pretty slick, let’s see if I can show it to you:
The ‘two bedroom companion suite’ that pops up is where he was. Dad’s bedroom was on the right. https://tour.crossroadsalc.org/tours/7W2Po65zN9
His roommate was a nice gentleman, but he has incontinence issues and the bathroom was not sanitary. I won’t go into details, but when I was out there, I would check and clean the bathroom each time before Dad would use it, and it was not nice.
The staff was aware, and they were doing what they could. Dad was at the top of the list for moving into a private room, but they were full. On Thursday, they contacted us and said a private room was available. On Friday they were able to move Dad in and it’s so much better! He has more space, a little kitchenette he can use and above all – a clean bathroom that is only his. My brother is going to be out there in a couple of weeks – he can help with any little tweaks that need to be done with the space.
(I updated his CaringBridge page where you can see a photo of the new digs.)

That’s great news! A more comfortable arrangement for him, and a load off your mind too.

That is good news!
