sick

Chili in bed

January 30, 2015 by Lloyd 4 Comments

I’ve had a head cold since Sunday. Lauren has been nursing me back to health by leaving me alone. I stayed home from school on Monday thinking that I would do that at the start of being sick and see if that got me well sooner. I felt better on Tuesday, so I went to school. Then I felt worse on Wednesday, so I went to school anyway just to throw the cold for a loop. I’m feeling a lot better now.

My voice was really shot on Wednesday, so I hooked a lapel mic up to the speakers in my classroom and I didn’t have to make hardly any sound at all. But it was kind of annoying when I coughed.

Anyway, that’s not what I wanted to tell you about. On Tuesday, after I got home from school I took some medicine and went to bed. When Lauren got home she yelled at me because I was suppose to take the medicine with food. Then she brought me chili in bed.

She’s a keeper.

Be vewwy vewwy qwuiet….

Yep, that’s an old drawing. I’m recycling the picture from 3 1/2 years ago. Hi, dead Pfennig. A new mean cat is about to explode kittens all over your house. Sorry.

My stomach has been trying to kill my throat the past week, and my voice is paying the price. (I’ve been off my medication for a month. First it was just laziness and not refilling the prescription, then it was thinking that I had this GERD thing beat. Nope. I suspect it might be the yoga. I’m bending over and dumping acid into my esophogus. Oh, the quandry!!!)

Lloyd is visiting his folks this weekend so I am having a voiceless 48 hours and gettin’ stuff done. I think I have a real shot at getting the house clean in a Lloyd-is-a-robot-maid kind of way!

What are you doing today?

Pfennig’s about to roll over.

Harken back

October 10, 2009 by Lloyd 7 Comments

Well, Saturday was pretty unproductive around these parts. Lauren isn’t feeling well, and that gave me an excuse to put off going to school to work on some computer junk. Instead, we stayed home out of the snow and were mostly slothful. I read a book that I had read before and played a computer game that I played before.

Lauren took a nap and proved that it is, in fact, possible to take a shower after 12:00 on a Saturday. This is a feat that I had here-to-fore thought impossible. I had based that on my observation that if I hadn’t taken a shower before noon on a Saturday, I would just give bathing a miss for the day (barring some function that required I be semi-presentable).

Oh yeah, the picture is left over from the auction trip last weekend. I just found it today and wanted to share.

Not up to snuff

September 20, 2007 by Lauren 8 Comments

I started feeling a little achy around 5 today, came home and sacked out on the couch around 6 and woke up at 8. It’s 9:30 now and I’m headed for bed. (Annette, if you read this, I don’t need a day off.) Anyway, after I checked the weather just now I followed a link to www.notmartha.org and it frightened me. With the exception of her knitting, I think I’m living this woman’s life – Envirosax, Baker’s Edge brownie pan, stemless wineglasses, Breyer’s ice cream. Spooky.

Good night.

Students dream of misbehaving in Brad Royuk’s classroom so they can have detention with Brad Royuk. But no one misbehaves in Brad Royuk’s classroom.
