Remember the old grape border in the dining room? Well, it finally came down and I started to paint over the old glue. (Too lazy to remove all of it.) I just slapped it up, and Lloyd said, “That looks cool. You should leave it that way.” So now I’m trying to make it look like a strip of parchment.  (It has a few more steps to go through to look finished.) We’re trying to think of a good quote to write on it. We’ll take any and all suggestions into consideration!

Reunion – Check!
Lloyd’s family gets together every year around the Fourth of July at a Lutheran camp in Missouri. We’re leaving Friday morning and I was going to write down a list of things to take on a piece of paper, but I’ll just list it here. Make sure we get it all in the car, ok?
- clothes
- swimsuits
- floaty things
- towels
- sheets, blankets, pillows
- sunscreen
- bugspray
- folding chairs
- beer cooler
- some stuff to eat
- cameras, phones & chargers
- ukuleles
- shower present (Lloyd’s cousin Steve’s young bride is pregnant.)
- Brad
I think that’s it. See y’all Sunday! (Or maybe there will be some time-delayed posts???)
Oh the carnage
I didn’t actually take any pictures that turned out this nicely (I only had my phone). But I took a lot of pictures, and these are each several of those combined.
P.S. There are a couple of photos added below, and for some other great shots – go to Brad’s site.

For Deborah!
It’s not often that I post twice in one day, but here goes. This morning I had to get ready in a rush, so I posted a back-up post (one written several days ago). We have had lots of delightful company in our fair town, and the best of them all – except for Santa – is the Gebhardt Family!!!! They arrived last…… Friday? Saturday? The days blur together now. (As you may remember, I surprised Deborah last May by showing up on her doorstep to celebrate IKEA day.)
Their girls are cat-deprived, as mama is allergic, so they fawn over Pfennig – lavishing her with yummy crunchies, and avoid Cricket ‘mean mean kitty’ like the plague.
I bring you photos!!!
I don’t have one with Macy in it! I’ll have to take one on the Fourth.
Happy now, Deborah? Sheesh, you’re so demanding!! 😀
Stool softener
It’s not what you think.
With so many computers around here on the countertop, our old hardwood stools just weren’t cutting the comfort mustard. Since this is where we’re spending 90% of our waking time, this had to be changed.
Did you know that if you buy something at Slumberland Furniture they send you a $25 gift card on your birthday? We play this game well. The first time I got a card we got two lamps for $7 each and walked out of the store with ten bucks still on the card! This time we bought a $36 stool that turned out to be 20% off, so after my new $25 gift card, I paid a whopping $4.07!!! Rock on, bargain shopper! For the other stool, we just bought a little stool topper, the ‘stool softener’ aforementioned. (C’mon, it’s funny.)
This is how we brought the Slumberland stool home. All the way from Lincoln.
